Bio
Currently based in Atlanta, GA, as the middle child of four, Myles Grier has always had the motivation and determination to succeed in life. With his siblings Michael Grier Jr, 24, Nicole Grier,11, Nicholas Grier, 11; Myles always kept family first. Always being cautious about who he surrounded himself around as a child, Myles never had many so called "friends". Raised with the mindset of the 40/60 rule, 40 percent book smart, 60 percent street smart; education has always been a key factor to focus on in life when not at home.
In the year of 2001, As a sixth grader attending Stephenson Middle School, Myles had a long talk with his father Michael Grier Sr. about what his aspirations are in life. Mr. Grier always told young Myles that he needs to be ahead of the game, not wasting his time away on foolishness and foolish people. That's when Myles decided to join the Stephenson Middle Drama Club. Myles didn't stop once he started.
Constantly participating in the drama club with many performances and practices, Myles realized this thing called "acting" is what he was growing a passion for. Mr. Grier kept pushing Myles to become more serious about acting if that was what he desired. With the help of his father and mother Derry Grier, Myles began looking for acting coaches around Atlanta for film/tv and found the training program called YourACT On-Camera Acting Studio.( www.YourAct.tv) Spending a couple of years finding out his flaws, strengths, and building his craft under Della Cole and Bob Harter, Myles began to take this talent he had seriously.
YourACT brought in the top agents in Atlanta every month to explain the business to the students hoping to get in the industry. That's when Myles met Joy Pervis, former lead agent of Hot Shot Kids/Teens Talent Agency in 2003. Myles began to work with Joy as his agent and began to get a feel for the industry professionally. By 2005, Myles took a step to challenge his talent and transferred to Deklab School of the Arts taking up Theatre and Visual Art. This Performing Arts school opened his eyes to many other art skills, from Film making, Dancing, Singing, and Musical Theatre. At this time, Myles faced challenges that tried to break him down. With the help of his mother Derry Grier, he became closer to Christ spiritually.Since then, things have only gotten better.
In 2006, After many auditions and a few independent films, Myles landed two commercial gigs that ran on television for a period of time. A Kool Smiles commercial and a Coors Light Beer Public Service Announcement. Graduating in 2007 and attending Valdosta State University as a theatre Arts major with an emphasis in performance. By 2007, Hot Shot Kids/Teens went under new management, but Myles stayed with his agent and her Assistant,Jayme Pervis, as she opened up J Pervis Talent Agency (www.jpervistalent.com).
Myles is currently on the path of being the second in his family to graduate from college after older brother Michael Grier Jr., who graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Building Construction Management. Myles is attending Valdosta State University, where he will recieve his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre Arts in 2011. Myles has appeared in marketing and advertisements during the football season for Valdosta State's television. In Valdosta State's theatre department, Myles has performed in Wit, Showboat, Footloose, Almost Maine, Damn Yankees, and The Piano Lesson with more to come.
Myles Grier has a mind fit for success and is letting his imagination be his limitation.
